That’s why we’ve taken everything we know about delivering great home care and building successful franchises and developed a comprehensive training program to prepare and guide our new franchise owners. We stand behind our franchisees every step of the way—from getting their FirstLight franchises up and running to sharing best practices for continually providing exceptional in home care to clients, all while helping owners develop a strong business and bright future.
FirstLight Home Care provides franchisees with the following education:
A pre-training module is provided to new owners within 48 hours after signing the franchise agreement. Designed to help FirstLight Home Care franchise owners hit the ground running prior to new owner training, the detailed module entails a minimum of 48-55 hours of focused work to complete all of the steps required.
New Owner Training
New FirstLight Home Care franchisees are required to participate and successfully complete New Owner Training in Cincinnati, Ohio. This five-day training is fast-paced and quickly immerses new owners into the world of non-medical senior care and in home care best practices, covers the FirstLight operating system, and provides hands-on learning of the FirstLight Home Care business model.
The FirstLight Home Care post-training module helps transition new franchise owners from training to support by scheduling weekly phone calls beginning the first week the owner is back in their new office and continues for 16 weeks. These calls address questions and concerns, and offer general support while the new home care franchise is in the start-up phase. Additionally, within the first 60 days days of opening, new franchisees receive two on site visits from a FirstLight field support leader to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Ongoing Business Support
FirstLight Home Care ensures that you are supported continuously throughout your FirstLight franchise ownership. Our leadership team is committed to conducting on-site, face-to-face visits with you and your team several times annually to address any needs you may have regarding recruiting, networking, business planning, marketing, and growth. Additionally, because state licensure requirements for companion and personal care are rapidly changing in many states, we are committed to guiding and supporting franchisees to meet and exceed state licensure requirements as they evolve. To streamline this process, we conduct regular webinars and team update calls.
FirstLight Home Care also holds a series of national and regional meetings every year. These meetings enable franchisees to share best practices with each other and obtain pertinent home care franchise industry information. Regional meetings are one to two days in length and national meetings are two to three days long.
