HOW DO I RESERVE A TERRITORY?

The first step is by signing an Area Development Agreement (ADA). A reserved territory is considered off the market and unavailable to other franchisees.

WHAT DOES THE ADA COST?

A 50% deposit of the franchise fee ($24,000 per ADA) is made at the time of signing.

HOW MANY ADAS CAN I SIGN AT ONCE?

New and existing franchisees can sign up to 3 ADAs at a time.

HOW LONG DOES THE ADA LAST?

A candidate may take up to 15 months to execute the franchise agreement’s required 500 average billable hours per week. An extension to meet the terms can be filed for an additional $6,000 deposit.

WHAT REQUIREMENTS DO EXISTING FRANCHISEES HAVE TO MEET?

Current locations must already be at 500 billable hours per week for FirstLight to approve the agreement.

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES AN ADA FROM A TRADITIONAL RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL?

While right of first refusal agreements are often loose, FirstLight takes a thoughtful, well-defined approach to how we grant territories to franchise owners. When a FirstLight franchisee wants to expand, they must meet clear commitment requirements. Our franchisees grow their businesses because it’s the right thing for them—not because it’s advantageous for the franchisor.
