Recently, FirstLight Home Care visited the International Franchise Association’s Annual Convention in New Orleans where we caught up with fellow franchise owners and operators of franchise systems within the homecare industry, as well as other industries. We enjoy attending IFA every year because it gives us a chance to stay on top of our industry, the trends, concerns, and forecasts, allows us to observe how other franchise systems operate, and gain added knowledge and expertise from franchise and industry experts. We always leave the IFA convention with specifically focused goals in mind to help better the FirstLight Home Care franchise system for our clients and franchise owners. So what were some of our major takeaways from this year’s convention?
From a more general aspect, there was a great concern among franchise systems in all industries about the Affordable Care Act and the future effects it will have on franchise owners. It is this growing concern that has motivated FirstLight Home Care to create an Affordable Care Act package for our franchise owners. We have taken the lead and fully immersed ourselves in the requirements and responsibilities of the Affordable Care Act and have become a dependable resource for our owners. FirstLight Home Care owners are welcome to take advantage of this information if they choose to do so. Within this information package we have drawn out a path for current owners to follow as they grow their franchises so that they may become ACA compliant with plan options that already comply with the ACA. So, while many franchise systems are still currently struggling with the affects of the Affordable Care Act, FirstLight Home Care is simply making sure to stay on top of any changes so that our current information packages for owners are up-to-date and correct.
Another general concern from many franchise concepts was the matter of still looking for better, accelerated ways to access capital for both existing and prospective owners. FirstLight Home Care has several relationships with preferred lenders across the United States and is a preferred Franchise concept with the SBA, thus offering several financing choices to our franchise owners.
Opportunities for FirstLight Home Care
We would like to continue to focus on helping and serving more veterans through our homecare services through our franchisees and through business ownership through our franchising opportunities.. This goal has consistently been an objective of ours, however, we are still determining the best and most beneficial ways to aid and serve more veterans within our industry.
We are continuing to focus on unit economics, (as we have from day one). FirstLight Home Care’s focus to our owners, and their employees, and corporate employees, and staying true to our Culture of Care Promise, has consistently produced positive operating results for our franchise owners.
Do you or someone you know want to own a small business in a thriving industry? The homecare industry is growing at a substantial pace and will continue to grow as more and more generations continue to retire. We ask you to consider owning a FirstLight Home Care franchise.
